Best Time to Visit

Hurulu Eco Park is a great safari destination year-round, offering peaceful forests, open grasslands, and excellent opportunities to see wild elephants and other Sri Lankan wildlife. It can be an especially good choice when Minneriya or Kaudulla have high water levels or are more crowded. The dry season, from May to September, is often rewarding for elephant sightings as animals gather around water sources. At Habarana Wildlife Safari, we choose the most suitable park based on your travel dates, weather, water levels, and recent wildlife movements. Morning safaris start around 6:00 AM, while afternoon safaris begin around 2:30 PM, with each safari lasting approximately 3–4 hours.

Your Safari Experience

Your guide picks you up from your hotel and drives to Hurulu, then follows the forest tracks at the best time of day, pausing wherever there’s wildlife or a great view. Expect a wilder, quieter feel than the open parks — and, with a private jeep, all the time you want to explore at your own pace.

Comfortable Safari Jeeps

We use open-view 4×4 safari jeeps with raised seating, open sides for photography and a shade canopy — safe, well maintained and comfortable for couples and families. Private jeep options mean the vehicle is yours alone.
